I like being inside the head of Sydney Brennan as she narrates another tale. The emotions are raw and personal, the story is vivid and easy to visualize. Especially since I have seen a hurricane or two and the havoc from it. It is fast, fun reading, and like the other 3 Sydney stories, I didn't want to put it down because each chapter leaves you wanting to read the next one. This story, like the other novella, deals a lot with personal interactions and relationships, and less with hair raising violence, although there are always enough dicey or scary situations to make sure you don't relax too much. I also liked the way this one went more into Sydney's background and told you more about her as a person. I wish there were more real people insightful and kind like Graeme.Product details

Author Judy K. Walker has been tantalizing me with small bits of PI Sydney Brennan's backstory, and in this book she offers a few larger chunks as Sydney battles with her past, a crooked acquaintance, and a hurricane. Fun read.'
I love it when I find an author I can stick with and Judy Walker is my new find. Her characters are well written, the story moves along at a good pace and I CARE about Sydney. There is enough humor to lighten it up and I have laughed out loud several times. Only one left to read, Judy needs to write faster. ;)
